Bump and Beyond with Brooke
Birth and Postpartum Doula Services

About Me
My name is Brooke White and I am a certified labor and postpartum doula trained by Doula Training Canada. I was born and raised in Sudbury Ontario and Sudbury is my home during the months of May, June, July and August. The remainder of the year I live in London Ontario where I attend Western University. I am in my fourth year of the medical science program and I will be graduating in April. Following the completion of my medical science degree, I plan to go into the midwifery program. As you can see, health care, babies and mothers are my true passion. As a doula I am not a healthcare professional, however, my interests lie directly in the field of taking care of people (especially mothers and babies). As such, I will not only look after you and your baby (in a non-medical fashion), I will also greatly enjoy it.
Additionally, my youthful age means that staying up all night to care for you or your baby will be draining but not debilitating and the on-call lifestyle is one that I actually enjoy. Not having my own children means that I can dedicate more of my time to you and your baby, as I don’t have a family of my own to care for. Furthermore, I can provide you with the best possible informational support. Both the era I grew up in and my education have molded me into a phenomenal researcher. I know how to find reputable sources and critically read and cross-reference scientific data and papers to find the most accurate representation of information. Because if there is one thing that I have learned through my years it is not to believe everything you read on the internet.
In conclusion, a few reasons that I would be a great doula for your family include: you would be the center of my attention! I don’t even know you yet and I am already passionate about providing you with the best possible support, so just wait until we get to know each other! I can provide you with the best research on any topic that you request. I will be your best friend while always maintaining a professional manor. I will not speak or advocate on your behalf but I will ensure that you are comfortable and confident enough to advocate for yourself.

Two Things Everyone Should Know Before Hiring a Doula
1. You should expect to be given a FREE consultation before signing any papers. This gives you the opportunity to see if the doula is a good fit for you and your family without any obligations.

2. A doula does not replace a partner or any other family members. The doula should work alongside any support members to complement their support. A doula's main focus is the labouring women, however she is there to support the whole family unit, so she will work to include the partner as much as possible and make sure that their needs are met as well.
